Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global Core Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available network environments across multiple regions, with a strong bias towards troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco networking (ideally Nexus), Fortigate firewalls, with knowledge of Netgate pfSense a plus. Familiarity with networking configuration of Enterprise virtualization platforms, such as VMware/Hyper-V and Nutanix is preferred, and the candidate would be comfortable collaborating remotely with distributed teams across time zones. The candidate will also be required to participate in the departments on-call out-of-hours rota.
The ideal candidate would enjoy troubleshooting network issues and have a minimum of CCNA certification. Experience working for a Service Provider, supporting on-prem network equipment with many incoming customer connections/address spaces across multiple locations would be advantageous.
The role is not normally customer facing, however the ability to pick up issues and work with customer technical teams through to completion is important.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement, troubleshoot and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure across global environments
- Support and optimize Cisco-based networks, including routing, switching, and datacenter technologies.
- Configure and manage Fortigate firewalls, including VPNs, security policies, and traffic inspection
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, and datacenter environments
- Collaborate with other infrastructure teams (client networking and virtualization) to support infrastructure projects and support issues.
- Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota, providing operational support and incident response outside of standard business hours
- Provide networking expertise to support virtualization platforms, including:
- VMware vSphere / ESXi
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Nutanix
- Participate in network architecture reviews, capacity planning, and performance tuning
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures
- Support change management, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Work effectively as part of a global, remote team, including occasional out-of-hours support if required.
Required Skills & Experience
- CCNA certification or higher.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies
- Routing & Switching (BGP, VLANs, STP, LACP etc)
- Datacenter networking (Cisco Nexus highly desirable)
- Proven experience managing firewalls (ideally Fortigate) in enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-site networks
- Demonstrable experience with network analysis tools like Wireshark, iPerf and others.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Experience working in a distributed or global IT team
Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Netgate pfSense firewalls
- Advanced datacenter networking experience
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, VXLAN and BGP a plus.
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Scripting or automation experience (Python, Ansible, etc.)
Virtualization & Platform Knowledge (Desirable)
- Networking within VMware vSphere / ESXi environments
- Networking concepts for Microsoft Hyper-V
- Networking architecture and integration with Nutanix
